How To Prepare!

Ok so you had your consult and your appointment is coming up! What should you do to prepare? In this we will explain what we do as artists to prepare for a tattoo and share our tips and tricks for an awesome experience.

  1. Preparation to a great experience starts 24hrs before your appointment. Stay away from alcohol and anything that could thin your blood like pain meds. This will make sure your blood is not super thin which causes headaches when trying to saturate a color into skin.
  2. Get a great night sleep, tattooing takes a lot of mental and physical strength so extra sleep is a great way to prepare.
  3. What is your favorite breakfast food? Get a good fun breakfast in your belly to aid in relaxing your mind and body.
  4. What to wear? Always come in relaxing clothes, this isn’t a fashion show. Keep in mind your artist will not only need to access the area you are getting the tattoo but also a good 8-10” around the area. Also skin is elastic so wearing tight clothes may stretch the skin in an unnatural way, which may lead to a crooked tattoo.
  5. Pack smart and lite, bring only things you will need (headphones, phone, wallet, snack, drink, etc) excess stuff just means more stuff in the way that doesn’t need to be.
  6. Plan accordingly with traffic, parking, etc. adding the stress of rushing helps no one. The tattooing process takes awhile but showing up late will add unnecessary.
  7. Bring your ID!!! Everyone needs an ID it doesn’t matter if you are 18 or 81
  8. When you show up at the shop we have a consent form for you to fill out. After completing you will then be greeted by your artist and shown your design. Your artist will then take it from there and go over everything with you.
  9. Your artist will then bring you back and clean the area followed by sizing the tattoo and then placing the stencil.
  10. Now is what you have been patiently waiting for!!!! Your new tattoo!!!
  11. After the tattoo your artist will go over what healing instructions they have found work best for them.
  12. Now you will say your good byes to your artist and checkout at the front. If this is your last appointment the front desk will cash out your down payment towards your tattoo. And you will be on your way with a piece of art that will literally last a lifetime!!!!!
